Role Overview
The Virtualization Platform Administrator - Ops is responsible for managing and operating the company’s virtualization platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and stability of the hypervisor infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesVirtualization Platform Management
- Administer and maintain:
- Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI (Hyper-V)
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Manage cluster configuration and health
- Host lifecycle management (patching hypervisors)
- Resource allocation (CPU, RAM, storage)
- HA / Failover configuration
VM Lifecycle
- Provision and decommission VMs (platform side)
- Template management
- Snapshot governance and cleanup
- Performance tuning at hypervisor level
- Capacity planning and optimization
(Guest OS configuration remains responsibility of Windows Admin.)
