Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Overview

An externship is an unpaid educational experience. NVA hospitals offer students the opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain hands-on clinical experience. Bowen Veterinary Services is a small boutique clinic on a small, community-minded island in BC. Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, and dentistry services.
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures and participate in medical management of patients.
• Practice clinical skills and develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
