About the Role
1) Build and maintain Linux/AIX servers; apply CIS/hardening baselines and OS updates.
2) Monitor system health (CPU, memory, I/O, filesystem) and investigate alerts.
3) Execute patching and kernel updates within change windows; verify services post reboot.
4) Troubleshoot authentication issues (SSSD/PAM/LDAP/Krb) and sudo policies.
5) Operate backup agents and perform periodic data and system restore tests.
6) Track EOL distributions/packages; plan upgrades or migrations with owners.
7) Manage SSH keys, certificates, and secure configurations per policy.
8) Diagnose performance issues (load averages, IOPS, network, swapping) and apply fixes.
9) Maintain runbooks, asset metadata, and CMDB relationships for Linux/AIX hosts, VMs and LPARs.
10) Coordinate with storage/network teams for multipath, bonding, and VLAN changes.
