About the Role
A specialist SEN provision in Peterlee is recruiting for a Trainee Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and Autism needs.
The school provides a structured and therapeutic learning environment where pupils are supported to develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive engagement with education.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Assisting with classroom routines and learning activities
- Building positive relationships with vulnerable learners
- Encouraging engagement and emotional resilience
- Supporting restorative and positive behaviour approaches
Ideal candidates may come from:
- Youth work
- Residential care
- Sports coaching
- Support work
- Psychology or education backgrounds
