About the Role
Responsibilities
- Perform full-process metallographic sample preparation including cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching
- Conduct microstructural observation, grain size rating, phase content analysis, and defect identification (e.g., porosity, inclusions, cracks) using metallurgical microscopes
- Analyze weld penetration depth, heat‑affected zone, and weld microstructure of welded joints
- Prepare and archive metallographic specimens; maintain metallographic sample library
- Operate and maintain Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and microhardness testers to perform hardness testing on metallic materials
- Select appropriate hardness testing methods and loads based on material type and specification requirements
- Perform gradient and cross‑sectional hardness testing (e.g., on welded joints, heat‑treated parts)
- Record and analyze hardness data to determine material heat‑treatment status and process ...
