Job Summary: 

As defined by the American College of Surgeons, the Surgical First Assistant is a trained individual who is able to participate in an actively assist the surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously providing aid in exposure, hemostasis and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
