About the Role
The Shaft Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, optimisation and reliability of all shaft‑related engineering systems. This includes hoisting systems, shaft infrastructure, control and automation systems, and associated electrical and mechanical installations. The incumbent will develop and maintain engineering and automation documentation, ensure compliance with mine safety standards, and support operational reliability of shaft systems. The role also includes participation in commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of shaft control and monitoring systems. The position requires collaboration with engineering teams, artisans, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient shaft operations. The incumbent may be required to perform standby duties.
