The AESO is mandated to design and operate electricity markets to deliver the safe, reliable, and economic operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES) and to facilitate fair, efficient, and openly competitive outcomes.

The Modelling team within our Grid Reliability division is looking for a full-time Summer Student to join our team for a 4‑month term, May to August 2026. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience under the guidance of senior technical specialists. You will contribute to building and improving the data repositories, structures, and automation tools that power our system modelling and key reliability initiatives. This is a great opportunity for a computer science student eager to work on real data challenges with real system impact.
