About the Role
2.1 Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures, such as ship components, pipes, boilers, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements.
2.2 Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
2.3 Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
2.4 Inspects work or confers with QA to maintain specified standards and quality.
2.5 Trains workers in operation of equipment.
2.6 Coordinates with other trade shop to accomplish work orders.
2.7 Plan its work simultaneously to finish job order in due time.
2.8 Supervise brazing and soldering operations, fitting and assembly of structural frames.
