About the Role
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
The Senior Database Administrator/Engineer installs, configures upgrades, administers, and monitors the enterprise database systems of Republic Services. The Senior Database Administrator/Engineer also works closely with the Infrastructure and Applications team to design and consult on new and existing systems to optimize performance and reliability.
**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Manage, monitor, and optimize relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server along with other platforms.
+ Manage and optimize cloud database services (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, google cloud services).
+ Design and implement cloud-based database architectures including migrations from on-prem to cloud.
+ Design scalable, secure, and high-performance database architectures for both on-prem and cloud environments.
