About the Role

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer to join us in Mclean, Va. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing software solutions to improve traffic safety.
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include:
Traffic analysis: Study how traffic moves through roadway links, intersections & entire transportation networks
Design solutions to improve traffic safety: Smart signals, sensors, automated traffic management, operational improvements, infrastructure upgrades
Traffic modeling & Simulating: Run simulation software, build traffic scenarios, use hardware in the loop systems, develop scripts or code to automate or customize solutions, work with API’s to conduct modes, tools, or systems 
Testing & Validation: Test accuracy of traffic models, Simulation performance, functionality of ITS Systems and equipment
