Snowflake & Streaming Data Architect

Role: Snowflake & Streaming Data Architect

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

Experience: 12–15 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end Snowflake data model (Star/Snowflake schema, Data Vault 2.0)
• Define Kafka topic strategy, schema registry standards, and ingestion patterns
• Establish data governance, masking policies, RBAC, and tagging taxonomy
• Own solution architecture, tech stack decisions, and stakeholder alignment
• Define SLAs for data freshness, CDC patterns, and error handling.

Must-Have Skills:

• Snowflake architecture (Virtual Warehouses, Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks)
• Apache Kafka / Confluent Platform — topic design, Schema Registry (Avro/JSON)
• Kafka-to-Snowflake connectors (Snowflake Kafka Connector or Confluent Cloud)
• dbt Cloud for transformation layer
• Python or SQL for pipeline validation
