About the Role
**Automatic Storage Management (ASM), **a feature of the Oracle Database, provides Oracle customers with simplified storage management that is consistent across all server and storage platforms.
ASM is part of the Core of the Oracle Database, it is a File System and a Logical Volume Manager for the Database. We work on different projects to support our Cloud, Cloud at Customer, and On Premises customers. In the Cloud, ASM is used in all of the appliances, being them Exadata or ODA (Oracle Database Appliance), and it is also used in most of our customer's environments that did not purchase an appliance. A simple way to see ASM is as a File System and a Logical Volume Manager, but it is even more than that.
Required skills and qualifications
- Very good in **Operating Systems **(multithreading, processes, stacks, etc.).
- Very good knowledge of algorithms, data structures, memory management.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
