Senior Lecturer in Philosophy

Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy for a fixed‑term position between August 3, 2026 and December 31, 2031. The reason for the fixed‑term position is a substitution.

The position of the Senior Lecturer includes teaching and thesis supervision in Philosophy and the tasks related to academic guidance and counselling at the Bachelor's and Master's Degree Education in Social Sciences and Philosophy. As a field of teaching and research Philosophy is generally directed at all aspects of reality and approaches its problems with conceptual and argumentative methods. At the University of Jyväskylä, philosophical research converges on philosophy of the human condition in the broadest sense of the term. The research areas are linked to the focus areas of research at the department.
