About the Role

Senior Engineer- Structures
Contract: Essex Highways
Location: Chelmsford
Contract Type: Permanent
We’re seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to lead the analysis and design of bridges and retaining walls in reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide technical expertise, mentor junior staff, and uphold high design standards. 
You will play a key role in delivering structural refurbishment, assessment, and replacement projects—drawing on your initiative and strong knowledge of design codes, DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations.
The Role
Support Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems, as well as CDM regulations, by positively implementing Essex Highways policies and procedures.
Prepare plans and programmes for highway structures works and services.
