About the Role

As a Senior Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping AEMO’s critical market systems. You’ll lead requirement analysis, design, development, and enhancement of software applications that keep Australia’s energy markets running 24/7. Your work will directly support AEMO’s mission and IT strategy, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and future-ready. Drive system design and development with robust processes and audit trails.
Engage with business users to understand needs and manage expectations.
Ensure market systems operate 24x7 at agreed service and security levels.
Analyse, design, and develop software solutions for major projects and BAU.
Champion continuous improvement in development methods, tools, and processes.
Follow AEMO’s security and enterprise architecture principles.
Provide after-hours on-call support when required. Proven experience in mission-critical IT projects, especially high-availability systems.
