Validate the feasibility of applying machine learning techniques to Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data for vessel detection
Conduct literature research and state-of-the-art analysis related to DAS, signal processing, and ML-based detection methods
Design, adapt, and train machine learning models (e.g. Computer Vision models, Vision Transformers, or other relevant architectures)
Analyze DAS data to detect vessels based on acoustic and vibration patterns
Utilize vessel-related signals such as engine noise, propeller sounds, hull–wave interactions, and other vibration signatures
Integrate trained models into a proof-of-concept (PoC) system...
