Section Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major dual carriageway infrastructure scheme based in Cambridge. This is a long‑term freelance opportunity on a high‑profile highways project, offering competitive rates and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a section of works on a dual carriageway project
• Setting out, surveying, and quality assurance
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
• Coordinating with Site Engineers, subcontractors, and site management
• Producing RAMS, ITPs, and daily site records
• Assisting with short‑term planning and progress reporting

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major civils projects
• Strong setting‑out and technical knowledge
• Background in roadworks / dual carriageway schemes preferred
• Valid CSCS card (SMSTS preferred)
