Secondary and High School ESL Teacher

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Secondary and High School ESL Teacher supports students in developing the English language skills required to access the wider curriculum and function confidently in an English-speaking learning environment. The role focuses on improving accuracy, fluency, comprehension, and communication so that students can participate effectively across subjects and school life.

Teaching and Learning

• Plan and deliver structured ESL/IELTS lessons appropriate to Secondary and High School students language levels
• Develop students reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
• Build academic vocabulary and functional classroom language
• Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of proficiency levels
• Monitor student progress through regular formative and summative assessment
• Provide clear feedback to support language improvement
