About the job Science Lab Assistant (Boon Keng)
- Maintain a safe, clean and tidy laboratory environment.
- Ensure that all apparatus and equipment are safe and clean for use.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, materials and specimens.
- Report all faulty machines and equipment immediately and display an Out of Order sign prominently on the machines/equipment.
- Ensure that all glass apparatus or breakages are disposed of appropriately.
- Ensure that Bunsen burners and high risk items (data loggers and microscopes) are properly kept and under lock and key.
- Inspect Bunsen burners to ensure they are in good condition.
- Keep a stock book and breakage record to indicate necessary replacement.
- Check and replenish first aid supplies.
- Aid Science teachers in preparing resources for laboratory lessons.
- Aid Science teachers during laboratory lessons, when required.
