Remote Backend Java Engineer (Payments)

Job Description
We are hiring backend Java engineers to support payments migration and integration in our environment. This work centers around integrating data into Clear2Pay (FIS) and supporting Oracle-based payment applications.

Success in this role requires strong enterprise Java fundamentals, batch processing expertise, and comfort working in older application server environments.

The contract will be short-term through the end of October or sooner. It can sit remotely working EST or CST.

Responsibilities:
• Consume transformed payment data from DB layers and feed into existing Java services
• Support batch ingestion and processing for payment datasets
• Build/extend service logic using established patterns and entity structures
• Work within runtime constraints (Java 8, WebSphere container)
• Collaborate with Python engineers on transformation outputs and error handling
