Registered Nurse- CCU Mentor

The incumbent will act as a Nurse Mentor for the Critical Care Unit (CCU), supporting the CCU novice nurse training program. The Nurse Mentor will ensure that all training material is engaging, relevant, and comprehensive. The Nurse Mentor will provide assistance to the clinical manager in clinical aspects, educational development of employees, as well as in ensuring standards of care relating to patient-safety are met. The Nurse Mentor will provide support at the bedside to participants in the CCU novice nurse training program. The Nurse Mentor will support the CCU unit with education initiatives.

Other Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, directs and evaluates the CCU novice nurse training program
• Provides programs based on the needs identified in the critical care unit
• Develops/modifies the CCU training program as required, and in consultation with management and the Clinical Nurse Educator
