Do I need to know the candidate personally?
No, It is not mandatory that you know the candidate personally. The referral could be a 3rd Degree connection as well
Who owns the referral claim in case there are multiple sources of claim
In case there is a double representation, i.e. more than one source simultaneously claiming ownership, ownership will move to the first source representing the candidate. No vendor bias or employee bias. 
Who does this policy apply to?
Irrespective of Geo (US, UK, AUS, INDIA): This referral bonus would not be provided for employees with designations as Director and above. Everyone else is covered under this policy.
