Overview

JOB PURPOSE: Analyzes project plans and documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project drawings specifications and tender documents to identify project scope and requirements.
• Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment and subcontracting services.
• Use cost databases, supplier quotations and historical data to prepare accurate estimates.
• Evaluate design alternatives and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare and update unit rates and maintain a cost library for recurring activities.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures as per tender documents.
• Coordinate with procurement, subcontractors and vendors for pricing of materials and services.
• Participate in bid clarification meetings with clients or consultants.
