Position Overview

Based at Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC), an inpatient facility which provides specialized mental health assessment and rehabilitation services. The Forensic Psychologist joins a dynamic, multidisciplinary Forensic Services team working with approximately a 30-bed base across secure and open units. Selkirk Mental Health Centre is only a short drive from Winnipeg’s perimeter and is located on a park-like campus. 

Reporting to the Clinical Psychologist Site Lead, the Forensic Psychologist provides assessment and treatment for patients found Not Criminally Responsible on account of mental disorder (NCR) and Unfit to Stand Trial who are under the jurisdiction of Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board (CCRB). This includes violence risk assessments and annual updates for CCRB disposition hearings.
