Position

Prison Officer – HMP Ashfield, Bristol (BS16 9QJ)

Salary: £28,187 per annum, rising to £29,271 after 12 months and to £33,337 after 3 years of service. Full‑time, permanent, average 40 hrs per week.

Responsibilities

• Supervise prisoners in all aspects of prison‑wing activity.
• Oversee work and education programmes, encouraging prisoner participation.
• Handle operational matters such as headcounts, cell searches, security, and administrative processes.
• Manage prisoners at risk of self‑harm.
• Cover 24/7 shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, nights, and bank holidays, on a rota basis.
