About the Role
PLC Programmer reporting to the Automation Manager, responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs. Based in Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for PLC/HMI/SCADA programming in office and onsite.
- Manage testing, start‑up and commissioning onsite.
- Meet with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
- Provide client technical support via telephone and remote access to commissioned sites.
- Draw electrical or mechanical schematics for process demonstration.
- Develop and install machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
- Set up computers, networking equipment and configuration.
- Test automated systems for efficiency, safety and reliability.
- Troubleshoot system errors.
- Ensure all supporting documentation is completed thoroughly and accurately.
