About the Role
The Pharmacy Assistant will assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing drugs to health care providers and external clients. He / She will ensure that prescriptions and filed correctly and in a timely manner.
Reponsible for Picking and/or Packing or orders
He / She receives, records, and stores medications coming into the pharmacy.
Maintains stock of prescription medications and informs pharmacist of inventory needs
Labels prescription medication and other medical products under the direction of a licensed pharmacist
Counts pills, labels bottles, prices, and compounds medications to prepare prescriptions for clients as directed
Monitors prescription-filling process to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and pharmacy policies
Liaises with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription information
Takes inventory of drugs on hand and records results
