About the Role
Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of support and diagnostic assessments and procedures, giving advice and arranging further follow-up as needed.
- Provide direct administrative support to the Principal Optometrist, including producing rotas, managing annual leave requests, and preparing documents in Word and Excel.
- Perform non‑patient‑contact activities to support optometry and imaging services across Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary, Cannock Chase Hospital and Ashmore Park Eye Clinic.
- Complete any other clerical administrative tasks that support the clinical functions of the department.
- Use agreed criteria, protocols and pathways, and clinical judgement within scope of practice to:
- Conduct imaging procedures appropriate to banding.
- Review patients attending the low‑vision clinic in person or by telephone, and action any necessary follow‑up arrangements.
