About the Role
The Mixing/Blending/Recycling Plastics Extrusion Operator is responsible for maintaining control of the mixing/blending process through accurate weighing and change over of raw materials, as well as ensuring quality standards are met through precise compound flow. The role prepares and maintains the flow of materials to the extrusion department by recycling resins back into the process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review production batch sheets to verify correct raw material input amounts
- Input raw materials utilizing both manual and automated systems
- Operate automated mixing equipment through use of touch screens
- Conduct detailed and efficient cleaning of all process equipment
- Perform periodic preventative maintenance on processing equipment
- Shredding/grinding/pulverizing of product to put regrind back into process
