Requirements
- Matric certificate and MBChB qualification. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner. EMSSA level 1 Ultrasound course. FCEM(SA) PART 1. Twelve (12) months experience in Accident and Emergency in a unit supervised by an Emergency Physician. RECOMMENDATION: DipPEC. EMSSA level 1 ultrasound accreditation. The following certificate will be recommended: Up to date Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) / Emergency Medicine Approach to Trauma (EMATT) or International Trauma Life support (ITLS).
