Medical Coder

Job Purpose:

The Inpatient Medical Coder applies expert coding skills to conduct invoice reviews, ensure accurate documentation, and provide guidance to the billing team. This role supports compliance with Medicare guidelines and coding initiatives while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure precise documentation, including reviews of co-source partner work.

• Assign and sequence all PCS and ICD-10 codes for services rendered as required.

• Comply with Medicare policy requirements, coding initiatives, and guidelines.

• Work independently from assigned work queues.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• CPC or CIC certification (AAPC) or CCS certification (AHIMA).
