Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team within the defence industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, developing robust mechanical solutions for demanding environments. You will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and integration.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of components and assemblies using CAD tools
• Design for manufacture, including consideration of machining, welding, and fabrication processes
• Supporting thermal simulation and thermal modelling activities
• Working with PDM systems to manage design data and documentation
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including electronics and manufacturing
• Supporting prototype build, test, and iteration activities
