Materials Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Development: Study material structures, properties (strength, durability), and performance to create new materials or improve existing ones.
• Testing & Analysis: Conduct tests under various conditions, analyze data using modeling software, and investigate material failures.
• Process Development: Design and implement procedures for material processing and manufacturing.
• Quality Control: Ensure materials meet technical and quality specifications and oversee quality processes.
• Technical Consultation: Advise managers, clients, and other engineers on suitable materials for specific applications.
• Supervision: Manage and guide the work of technologists, technicians, and other engineers.
• Sustainability: Evaluate environmental impacts and promote sustainable material use.

Common Duties

• Prepare project proposals, budgets, and reports.
• Build and test prototypes.
