About the Role
POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The incumbent will repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Technician performs basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires and may test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in vehicle components and systems, and performs preventative and repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road.
Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic diagnostic tools and performs repair and maintenance on vehicle and equipment engines, chassis component, suspension, drivetrain, steering systems, heating and cooling systems and line maintenance welding and fabrication.
