Machinist

Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, the Machinist is responsible for the set-up and operation of machinery specific to their area of responsibility in accordance with blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions.

Overall Main Responsibilities

• Responsible to set-up, operate and maintain set-up for the following machinery as per company procedures
• Operate lathes, milling machines and boring mills
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining procedures
• Select appropriate machining parameters (machine feeds and speeds)
• Maintain standard maintenance procedures on lathes, milling machines and boring mills
• Inspect production product and material to ensure compliance with tolerance/quality standards.
• Read production drawings.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Record process sheets and daily work tickets.
