Linux Technician

Work Location: Canberra/Sydney preferred
Security Clearance: NV2 (must be held before commencement)

Purpose of the Role

The Linux Technician supports the Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation Project, which delivers modern, cyber hardened ICT systems for the Royal Australian Navy. The role focuses on building, integrating, securing, and supporting Linux based system environments that underpin the mission systems across ships, submarines, and shore establishments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, build, and implement Linux operating systems.
• Integrate ICT infrastructure, applications, and tools with Linux OS.
• Analyse, track, and resolve complex Linux SOE and application issues.
• Implement hardening and cyber security measures for Linux servers.
• Create and maintain automated builds to improve efficiency.
