About the Role
MSc project: Interferometric Delay Tracking System for Petahertz Field Sampling
Work Activities
Are you excited by the idea of measuring time on the scale of attoseconds: one billionth of a billionth of a second? In 2023, the Nobel Prize in Physics celebrated breakthroughs in attosecond science, the field that allows us to observe electrons moving inside atoms in real time. Join our team as an MSc student to develop a dual-light interferometric delay tracking system that will make such precise measurements possible.
Inspired by recent research in attosecond beamline stabilization [Huppert, M. et al. Rev. Sci. Instrum. 86, 123101 (2015)]and precise optical delay tracking [Schweinberger, W. et al. Opt. Express 27, 4789–4798 (2019)], this project aims to develop a timing acquisition in experiments that allows us to measure petahertz electric fields [Herbst, A. et al. J. Phys. B 55, 172001...
