**Job Description:**
The Inpatient Coding Apprentice role offers a chance to learn the complex skills necessary to be an inpatient hospital MS DRG coder. The program includes hands-on coding assignments, classroom instruction, and online modules, with progress evaluated through competency checklists and skills assessments which will help build a solid coding foundation. Apprentices will work under the direct supervision of experienced coding professionals, receiving regular feedback and guidance. The Inpatient Coding Apprentice is an entry level position for an Inpatient Coding Analyst who deciphers and interprets provider documentation in the health record and assigns diagnostic information using ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for a complex range of acute care services for Intermountain Health.
