Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Salary Grade F Points 14 to 19 (£29,540 to £32,061 Full Time Equivalent) subject to pro rata. The minimum actual pro rata salary per annum for this job starts at £22,416.63.

Macaulay Primary Academy is looking to appoint a Head of Learning and Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our academy in September 2026 on a part‑time, permanent basis.

Your new role

As an HLTA, you will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum, support teacher planning and resource management, supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absences, and provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy to raise standards of achievement. You will use your advanced knowledge and skills to assist with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, encouraging pupils to become independent learners, and support pupil welfare and inclusion in all aspects of academy life.
