The Heavy Equipment Mechanic (HEM) works under the guidance of the Facilities Operation & Maintenance Manager. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic (HEM) is responsible for the diagnostic and repairs of military/civilian light, medium and heavy wheeled equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, and repair, rebuild and maintain heavy equipment. Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, repair or replace parts as required; service, repair, rebuild, overhaul and maintain the aforementioned types of equipment, as well as major assemblies and components of that equipment including engines, transmission, fuel injection systems, hydraulics systems, ignition systems and electrical sy...
