Head Trader

Piper Maddox is partnered with a growth-oriented, publicly traded North American power company in Calgary that is looking to add a Head Trader, Gas to their Supply & Trading team!

Role Overview & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end positioning for the company's AECO and Henry Hub gas exposures from next day through 5+ years forward.
• Lead and develop a team of gas traders and analysts, driving portfolio profitability within defined risk limits.
• Generate and execute speculative-driven trading strategies with clear catalysts and defined downside across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
• Drive development of Canadian, Lower 48, and global gas fundamentals analytics.
• Integrate gas, power, congestion, and optionality to optimize cross-commodity outcomes including long-dated hedging and structured exposure.
