About the Role

MoD is on the hunt for an experienced Hardware Application Designer to develop complex hardware application designs, bookwirings, and equipment layouts that align with engineering and railway signaling principles.

This role involves applying established processes to create solutions that meet technical and operational requirements.

Key Duties:

  • Act as Work Package Manager when necessary (lead teams of 1 to 5 designers)

  • Support project planning, timeline management, and budget tracking to ensure successful delivery

  • Monitor progress across assigned project tasks (ensure adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards)

  • Develop accurate, justifiable estimates for current and emerging technologies

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of SelTrac signal plans and radio equipment.
