About the Role

Job description

  • $35.80 per hour + super (penalty rates apply) 
  • Ad-hoc basis - shifts can be as short as 3 hours, though most are 12 hours (Day : 6am-6pm / Night : 6pm-6am).
  • Training and nesting period (at least first three shifts) is onsite in Wollongong
  • Fully remote after trainer sign off 
  • Mid-late April start
  • We’re seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join a dynamic casual support pool for a vital emergency hotline that connects the public to help during severe weather events such as floods, storms, and tsunamis.

    About the Role

    As a Flood Storm Call Operator, you will be the first point of contact for members of the public during severe weather emergencies. You’ll respond to inbound calls via an emergency assistance line, assess the nature and urgency of each situation, gather critical information, reassure callers, and accurately record and escalate cases as needed.
