Field-Based Heavy Equipment Technician Position

SMS Equipment is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician in the Lethbridge area to work independently from a service truck. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and maintaining advanced heavy machinery in a safe manner.
This crucial role requires a motivated Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician who can operate autonomously while fulfilling tasks such as repairs, maintenance, and equipment overhauls. Candidates should possess strong safety standards and be eager to work in diverse conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose equipment faults using testing tools
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance
• Interpret complex work orders and manuals
• Complete job-specific reports accurately
• Adhere to safety protocols in remote environments
Requirements:
• Journeyperson certification as Heavy Equipment Technician
• Strong commitment to safety in all tasks
• Excellent communication with clients and team
• Valid Class 5/G driver’s license
