Elementary School Counselor

SD42 is looking for a qualified applicant interested in working as a Counsellor in our Safe and Caring Schools program, for a 0.8 FTE continuing position, effective September 1, 2026 .

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, small-group, and classroom-based counselling to support students’ intellectual, social, emotional, and personal development.
• Deliver preventative and intervention-based counselling services using developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
• Support students in building self-awareness, emotional regulation, social skills, problem-solving abilities, and resiliency.
• Work in an itinerant role across multiple school communities to address diverse and evolving student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and school-based teams to promote student well-being and success.
