Design/Costing Engineer (Sheet Metal)

Key Responsibilities Design & Technical Evaluation

• Interpret and review technical drawings (2D/3D) using AutoCAD and open/view STEP files for detailed analysis.
• Assess and determine suitable manufacturing methods — e.g. stamping, laser cutting, bending, welding, buffing, or a combination.
• Translate product drawings into feasible production plans based on material types, part complexity, and quantity.
• Work with internal engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment to in-house capabilities.Costing & Quotation Preparation
• Prepare full product cost breakdowns covering raw materials, process costs, machine time, manpower, and overheads.
• Source and validate material pricing (CRS, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.) and calculate costs based on thickness range from 1.0mm to 5.0mm.
