Costume Stitcher III

Job Summary

Costume Stitcher performs alterations and repairs on costume pieces and costumes; communicates with other internal show teams and builds new costumes as required for Characters, parades, shows, atmosphere performances and special events.

Major Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on costumes including, but not limited to, repairing rips, replacing zippers, changing and replacing trim and making costumes bigger or smaller to accommodate performers size.

• Ability to do sewing skills (i.e., putting in a zipper with a sewing machine, stitch button holes, ability to follow patterns, etc.). Must pass a basic sewing skills test.

• Perform alterations (i.e., replace zippers, make costumes smaller or larger to accommodate performer body shape, size; measure and sew hems) and construct new costumes from a pattern (i.e., cutting fabric, pinning pieces together and sewing either by hand or on a machine) for special events.
