About the Role

Job Summary

The Intermediate Cost Engineer will support a major hydroelectric project in New Brunswick, working two weeks per month at the project office in Fredericton, NB. Travel and lodging expenses are covered. The role involves cost control across engineering, procurement and construction (EPC/EPCM) activities, budget development, cost performance monitoring, trend analysis, and reporting. The engineer collaborates with planners, estimators, procurement teams, and construction staff to ensure accurate and timely cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Track commitments, actuals, and incurred costs against approved budgets.
  • Monitor cost performance across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Validate invoices, progress claims, and contractor payment applications against work performed.
