Role Summary
The Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine provides expert, timely, and evidence‑based care to infants, children, and adolescents presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies. The role requires leadership in clinical decision‑making, resuscitation, and multidisciplinary coordination within a high‑acuity emergency department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead assessment, stabilisation, and management of critically ill and injured paediatric patients
Oversee paediatric resuscitation, trauma care, and emergency procedures in line with international guidelines
Provide senior clinical decision‑making and support for complex cases
Collaborate with paediatric subspecialties, ICU, anaesthesia, radiology, and nursing teams
Ensure high‑quality documentation, adherence to clinical pathways, and patient‑safety standards
